Recommended Packing List

What to Bring

  • Approximately three to five days’ worth of casual, modest and comfortable clothing (washers, dryers and laundry detergent are available at no charge)
  • Slip-on or velcro athletic shoes
  • Fitness or yoga clothes
  • Jacket or sweater for cold weather and air conditioning in group room
  • Appropriate reading material (recovery-related books are recommended, though novels are allowed)
  • Stationery, stamps, journals and notepads (not spiral bound)

*If you are currently taking prescription medicine, please call the admissions department at 941-251-5000 prior to evaluation to determine which medications are necessary to bring.

What Not to Bring

  • Clothing with reference to alcohol, tobacco, violence, profanity or sexually explicit or suggestive messages
  • Backless shirts, spaghetti straps, tank tops, tube tops, low cut or sheer clothing
  • Short shorts; short skirts; low rise jeans, pants or shorts
  • Bras containing underwires (please note that underwear, including bras, must be worn)
  • Belts, drawstrings or shoe strings
  • Personal toiletry items (will be provided)
  • Products containing alcohol, such as mouthwash
  • Glass items (picture frames, mirrors, perfumes, etc.)
  • Electronics (cell phones, laptops, cameras, etc.)
  • Food products of any kind (candy, gum, breath mints, beverages, etc.)
  • Non-prescription medications, vitamins or herbal supplements
  • Mood altering substances (legal or illegal)
  • Weapons or items that can be used as a weapon
  • Excessive or expensive jewelry (we are not responsible for lost or stolen items)
  • Excessive amounts of cash beyond recommended amount)
  • Writing utensils (will provide appropriate utensils)
