Adult Partial Hospitalization Program at Suncoast

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center, located in Bradenton, Florida, is an outpatient program that offers a structured environment and allows patients to return home to maintain personal relationships. The program is designed for individuals who require coordinated, interdisciplinary treatment but do not require 24-hour care.

Patients most appropriate for PHP may have impairment in psychosocial functioning or a deteriorating psychiatric diagnosis. Family involvement is a key component of the recovery process. It is important that family members become active participants in the therapeutic process as the patient will return home daily.

Adult PHP takes place Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm Lunch is provided daily.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

An adult partial hospitalization program typically consists of a part-time day treatment program in which your treatment options range from individual and group therapies to support and process groups depending on your individual treatment plan.

Everything we do is built around what you need, and our initial assessments help determine what types of treatment will work best for you and whatever issue you may have. You’re not alone, but whatever you are facing is unique just like you, and we understand that.

“Part-time day program” means that you will attend treatment in the day and then return home at night. This allows for greater freedom while also allowing you to get the help you need at a partial hospitalization treatment facility. This focus on personal relationships helps people who may avoid treatment due to having a family or other loved ones make the decision to get into treatment without giving up anything at home.

Levels of Care

Our treatment approach focuses on helping patients return home with effective coping skills they can utilize in daily life.

To assist people with a broad range of psychiatric symptoms, our services are offered at multiple levels of care. The program to which a person is admitted depends on their treatment needs and the severity of their symptoms, which are identified during their initial assessment.

In treatment, there are multiple levels of care – each of which is an important part of the journey to a happier, healthier life. You can start in one and move to the others based on your needs, or you can receive the treatment you need in one of the programs.

Partial Hospitalization is just one level of care, and you can “step-down” from residential treatment (outpatient psychiatric treatment) into PHP or from a PHP program to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

We offer an intensive outpatient mental health program at Suncoast Behavioral Health, in addition to our residential and PHP options.

Participating in multiple levels of care has shown to decrease the risk of hospitalization, as your support system remains strong and you continue to build on the skills necessary to continue your journey to a better quality of health.

Please call us if you or your loved one needs help and would like to learn more about our partial hospitalization program. We are ready and willing to help you with any step of the process to make the decision to seek treatment as easy and comfortable as possible.
