Virtual Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center offers a virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents ages 12-17 that runs Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Through our highly structured intensive outpatient program for adolescents, teens can improve their coping skills and functioning. Patients in this program have the benefit of attending virtually, which allows them to maintain important family, educational, social and community relationships.

The multidisciplinary treatment team at our adolescent IOP program develops an individualized treatment plan specific to each teen that monitors progress and builds on strengths and weaknesses so that they can be discharged with improved functioning.

What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

Intensive Outpatient Treatment is a part-time day program in which patients attend treatment and therapy sessions for a few hours a day a few days a week. Designed to be the least structured and most free level of care but still offer the benefits of a structured treatment program, an IOP for mental health can make a big difference in a patient.

IOP can be a step-down from a “higher” level of care such as inpatient treatment or residential treatment — it can even be a step-down from a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).

IOP keeps patients in the Continuum of Care, increasing their likelihood of maintaining health, while also providing a strong support system for their new life in recovery.

Treatment at an IOP center can also be a key entry point for those patients who might be curious about treatment, new to seeking treatment or even have responsibilities that keep them from seeking longer-term treatment.

We Care About You

Treatment for teen behavioral health or mental health is not a one-size-fits-all process, and we take that into account when determining what level of care and treatment will be best for your child.

Our initial assessment will determine the needs of your child and work to get the help needed for whatever issues your family may face.

It is important that adolescents receive the behavioral health services they need when struggling with a mental health illness. The dedicated staff at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center can help provide treatment through various programs and services offered at the facility.
